Is the letter really handwritten, or is it a font?
Really handwritten. A real person writes every letter with a real pen in bright red ink. No fonts, no printing tricks, no “handwriting-style” anything. It’s the entire reason we exist, and it’s the first thing a skeptical seven-year-old checks.

Will it arrive before Christmas?
Order by December 12 and yes, guaranteed: it arrives before Christmas or you get every penny back. After December 12 we keep writing and mailing daily, but we stop promising what the late-December postal service won’t let us promise. Honest beats hopeful.

Can I see what the letter says before I buy?
Yes, and you don’t even have to ask. On the order page, the letter preview fills in live with your child’s details as you type. What you see is what Santa writes.

Can each of my kids get a different letter?
Yes, and they should. Siblings compare letters the second the envelopes are open. There are four different letters, and each child picks up their own, personalized with their own details. Additional letters are $15 each on the same order.

What details will Santa actually mention?
Their name (spelled the way you spell it), their age, their best friend’s name, the gift they’re hoping for, and something they did this year that deserved noticing. That last one is our favorite, and it will be yours too.

What if I misspell my child’s name in the order?
Your confirmation email shows every name exactly as it will be written (“2 letters, for Emma & Noah”). Catch it there, reply to us, and we fix it before the pen touches paper.

Does it really come from the North Pole?
The return address on the envelope says Santa Claus, The North Pole, and the envelope is hand-addressed to your child. The postmark comes from wherever the sleigh happened to refuel. No child has ever audited the postmark. They’re too busy reading.

When do letters get mailed?
Santa’s mail arrives in December, when mail from the North Pole makes sense. Orders placed September through November are written carefully in advance and mailed the first week of December. Orders placed December 1-10 are mailed by December 14. After that, letters go out as fast as they’re written, honestly and without a Christmas promise.

And here’s the underrated part of ordering early: you’ll forget you did it. Then one December afternoon the red envelope shows up and surprises everyone in the house, including you. Half the magic of Santa’s mail works on the grown-ups too.

Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 14 days of placing your order, for a full refund, no questions. The last day to cancel this season is November 1, and orders placed after November 1 are final, because that’s when the pre-writing begins and your letter starts becoming a real object with real ink on it. The full policy lives here.

Can it ship to a different address, like the grandkids’ house?
Yes. About a third of our 2015 orders were placed by someone whose last name did not match the child’s: grandparents, aunts, the uncle four states away. The order form asks for the child’s mailing address separately for exactly this reason. Your billing address and Santa’s delivery address don’t need to match.

What ages is this right for?
The form takes any age from 2 to 13-plus; the sweet spot is 3 to 11. The four letter versions cover the spread: first-Christmas wonder on one end, “my friend at school says Santa isn’t real” on the other. If your kid is in the doubting years, that second one is the letter we’re proudest of.

Do you ship outside the US?
Yes. International shipping is free on the handwritten letter and $9.99 on the free printed letter. The before-Christmas guarantee applies to US delivery only: once a letter leaves the country its timing belongs to two postal systems and the weather over the Atlantic, so order early and expect a longer wait.

What’s it printed on? (Trick question. Every word is handwritten.)
Written on parchment-style paper worthy of Santa’s desk, in a hand-addressed oversized red envelope with a real stamp.

Why $39.99 when printables are free?
Because a printable comes out of your printer and your kid knows what your printer sounds like. We wrote an honest comparison of every option, including the free ones we’d genuinely recommend for some families: every way to get a letter from Santa, compared. Short version: you’re not paying for paper, you’re paying for the face at the mailbox when Santa knew their best friend’s name.

Is there a free letter?
Yes: a printed letter from Santa with your child’s name, in the same hand-addressed red envelope. Free letter. $6.99 shipping. It is printed, and we say so. Here is the free printed letter from Santa.
